Philip Wollen: Animals Should Be Off The Menu

I came across a very inspirational video about a speaker Mr Philip Wollen whose compassion is unwavering. A compassion that I haven't seen in such a long time. It is an inspiring and courageous video that I would love to share with you all. For many years now, I have been an advocate for many things, from environmental, to human rights, for women rights, animal rights and etc.  This courageous  speaker was a corporate executive and is now a Philanthropists from Australia and my hero. His name is Philip Wollen who participated in a debate this past spring to address the horrendous suffering  and abuse animals endure before they end up on our plates. He also has a charity called the Winsome Constance Kindness Trust  where he speaks and spends his money to further animal rights and human rights. When I talk about Inspirational, let me tell you that this is an inspiring and powerful speech that addresses the conditions of animal suffering  and the lack of compassion that we humans have lost and  had lost for a long time now. Mr. Philip Wollen speaks articulately about animals and how they should be taken off the menu. Please take a few moment of your time and be inspired.

Drought due to Fossil Fuel

We are in desperate need of rain, if you haven't notice yet... which brings me to fossil fuel that is being produced in the U.S. Did you know massive wildfires are burning holes into nine different Western states. Every region of the country is experiencing some form of drought. The water crisis is knocking on America's door and yet we're oblivious to the single biggest waster of fresh water operating right under our noses.

Yes, the producers of fossil fuel, that use thermoelectric energies (including coal, nuclear and natural gas) is the fastest growing use of freshwater resources in the country.  Did you also know that  for every gallon of water used in your homes,  five times more water is being used about (40,000 gallons each month) is used to provide that home with electricity via is used to provide that home with electricity via hydro power turbines and fossil fuel power plants.

We need to address this issue before it become a serious problem. Call your Congress in your state and inform them that it is time that we start working on renewable energy before it is too late. People of the world need to make huge changes, the only way that change is going to happen is to speak up and let your government know that we are not to be ignored. It is time to change our ways and ignore trivial bickering among ourselves and start bonding together to make a change.  We are experiencing a heat wave that we haven't seen here in the  United States in many years, but the problems are caused by the companies that are releasing  large amount of contaminants into the environment, such as coal, nuclear, gas and etc. Speak up and be heard, inspire those around you to see the larger picture, everything else is trivial.  To bad  that most countries in Europe are to busy with trivial wars to see what is going on right underneath their nose, by the time they realize it, it will be to late.

I wish there was away to communicate these issue to people who would listen in these governments who are wasting their time trying to keep their  positions in their government and slaughtering their own. It is a shame that we live in a world where anarchy is being nourished and the surrounding environment are being decimated from the unnecessary war and carnage that is going on right now in Europe. Please protect the innocence of  war and open the  minds and hearts of the responsible individuals who is promoting death and destruction only for personal gains.

Be inspired and voice your opinions... together we are strong!

Obama: The Cure for America

I had an inspiration to start a blog about the importants things that matter to me. My inspiration is President Barack Obama and because of him I have found a new perspective in my life. To see an African American become president within my time was nothing short than a miracle. I had always knew that eventually in my time there would be a president of African descent that would don the title of President.  I also new that it was the right time for such changes to take place in the early 21st Century. It shows that the human race is evolving and changing, that things aren't as black and white as some would like us to think.  Also, what moved me even more, that a woman Hilary Clinton former runner up for the Presidency, would step up to the challenge of running as president, something that was never heard of or seen and even though she didn't win the election she was truly an inspiration and she would have been great.  This  was a turning point in American history, I knew then times have definitely changed. This change was inevitable and that was the of theme of President Obama's campagin. I believe that each of us have great ideas to make a change in the world, even if it is a small change, it still makes a huge difference. I am not a writer, or an expert in any field I write about only the things that I am passionate about and express myself to all who is interested in the things that I find to be important. I am glad that the perception perceived  today isn't what was like 50 or 60 years ago in our country when blacks, females, and latinos were discriminated against and had no say in our country.   I am not saying that it is any better, but better than what it use to be like. We still have a ways to go, we're still infant in our thinking.  I am also not saying that 50 or 60 years ago everyone thought the same, but those that were in power manipulated the people of that time to think and behave in a way that was only to benefit those in power. Divide and conquer was and still is being used today in subtle ways among the minorities in the United States. It's subtle, but effective. That is why some minorities groups find it difficult to find common ground  and come together.

If minorities united and used their combined strength to make changes, accomplishment are inevitable and can make a difference. I am not saying that the minorities need to retalitate and use physical strength but use mental and spiritual strength to let those in power know that they are not alone and that there are others that think the same and who would love to unite all of the people of the world together and make positive changes that will benefit everyone, but it can't be done if the fighting continue among each other, while those in power laugh and benefit from the mistrust.

The Lack of compassion in the world is disheartening. Judging with out compassion is a cruel way of existing, treating individuals as subspecies because of their color , race, creed, religion or what ever is the most inhumane and not to mention antiquated form of manipulation. Treat our fellow man with out respect. If compassion was extended like open arms to to all that have been wronged or those that have given up on the America the dream is a first step in ending the bigotry and seeing the diversity not as a deficiency in the species, but as a way to open our minds and use those minds to perfect humanity and achieve greatness in all we do.

Today social media and the internet have brought knowledge, information, and people together to be informed and to use that information to make a difference in each other. We are doing it. We have done it. WE have made progress we've raised our voices and there has been progress. Pat yourselves on the back we shall continue to make changes that will protect our future, wildflife, environment and make renewable energy the future a reality.  It's just my opinion; but I believe and that  President Obama was elected for a reason. He understand the struggles he knows what is going on,  he lived the life of those who have struggled and is still struggling, people whom are homeless, hungry, dying of diseases, he was those people and its because of those experiences he is trying to change the mind set that has been ingrained in us for far too long.   He was elected for a reason... and I believe that things happen for a reason and we need to take advantage of these changes and embrace them because those in power know that we want change. They are constantly trying to veto bills that was passed or add extra to an already bill to further their agenda and make those who are paying them large money to harm the American people. We need to let our Government know that they work for us not for Big Oil companies that are slowly destroying our environment so that they can continue to make money on the suffering of the American people. These rich pompous individuals aren't thinking of us, they got into politics not to help there own country and its people, but to get fat off our hard earned money in taxes so they can buy their yachts, billion dollar homes and for self-interest. Some in power would sell our rights, environment, wildlife and etc for a few million dollars, by passing unscrupulous legislation that harms everyone and everything as we are seeing everyday in the USA. Wouldn't it be funny, if the need for oil wasn't needed anymore, can you imagine what underhanded things they would do to further their agenda. I  may not know much but I do have eyes and I see and seeing is what I do best and I will write what I see and share what I think. If those of you that may find this blog inspirational speak up let yourselves be heard, reach out to the abyss and bring light to whatever you feel needs to be addressed and make a CHANGE.

Since Barack Obama, took office the big wigs didn't do anything to help our President, all they've done was contort the truth and blamed him for everything that was perpetrated from his predecessors. The Republicans are spending large amount of money in the billions  to spread lies and manipulate the populace to think as they do. They've blocked legislative bills, they made some of the American people believe their fallacies and tried everything to discredit our president. I am sometimes, shocked how people follow the false propaganda without knowing the truth or seeking to verify the claims. The people put to much trust in our government. We need to seek out the truth and stop assuming that everything we hear is the truth. We must stop presuming and instead become educated. Once the truth is revealed spread it and let it be known.

The achievements Barack Obama has done for the American people are as plane as the nose on your face don't forget what he has done, don't change your perception of him support him because I feel deep down inside that he will be the one to show us the way to an America where we all will benefit and be proud of. We need to perfect the human race, seek peace in the world, respect human life, protect the enviornment, wildlife, our oceans and the world. Yes, I am an idealist...What's wrong with it, all great achievements come from idealism, because in the long run it shows.

I found this posting while doing research on Barack Obama and I am going to post it and share it with you here: Make your own decision about him and don't be afraid to stand by him and for what you believe in.

  • In his first week in office, he froze the salaries for top White House Staff members. This is a largely symbolic act, but might be an important one.
  • Set a deadline for the closing of Guantamamo Bay. Some of his supporters would say this is a great thing because they believe it operates as something from the Dark Ages.
  • He fast-tracked the process to apply new fuel standards to 2011 car models and initiated steps to allow California to set its own standards for auto emissions that are stricter than that of the Federal government. Again, this is a measure that some of his supporters hail as a grand step forward, while his detractors (or Flamers) point out that it could provide an additional severe drag on the economy, especially in car manufacturing areas.
  • He signed a detailed executive order to ban torture and inhumane treatments of prisoners.
  • Asked the military leadership to engage in additional planning necessary to execute a responsible militaryy draw down from Iraq.
  • Released the interrogation memos without consulting the Bush staff and /or Bush about it. And they were only partially released some of the information in the memos were not made public.
  • Signed an executive order that restored a 30 day time frame for former presidents to review records before they are released. It also eliminated the right for the vice president or family members of former presidents to do the reviews.
  • Signed an executive order that requires that appointees sign forms saying that they were not hired because of political affiliations or contributions. This is far from an unbeatable measure, but is an important early step towards cleaning up governmental hiring policies. It is easier to prove someone lied when their signature is right next to the statement in question.
  • Signed an order banning gifts from lobbyists and banning anyone from working in an agency they had lobbied in previous years. Promptly made the order toothless by immediately granting a waiver to a former defense lobbyist.
  • Lifted a ban on giving federal money to international groups that perform abortions or provide abortion information.
  • Granted his first TV interview as president ot Al-Arabiya, a channel described as a "voice of moderation" to the Middle East. His supporters call this a very smart move to help angered nations and groups feel a bit less cast aside, and let them know that they need not resort to violence to be made a part of the world discussion. Detractors point out that this is the type of thing Neville Chamberlain would have done, though a TV interview and "the Munch Agreement" are leagues apart.
In his first 7 months in office: He's done quite a lot actually.

  • He has so far passed an economic recovery bill which has met mixed criticism but is slowly progressing. He has passed the AMD Stabilization and Supprt Bill which was tailored to help stablize and strengthen the United States Military, and has shown improvement within the standards. President Obama has also been working on other proposals, bills, and acts to be passed on topics such a Health Care reform, Education, the Mortage crisis, the war on Al-Qaeda, and domestic policy.
  • Promised to send additional troops to Afghanistan in March and began the pullout of troops in Iraq.
  • Passed the bailout of the auto industry and pressured their mangement to tow the party line.
  • Waffled on sending troops and allowed those serving not to suffer from lack of support. (if you had to send 30,000 Americans to a war zone I bet you would hesitate unless I realized lives were at stake and I was in charge)
  • Refused to allow open meetings regarding health care reform as promised.
  • Passed more tax increases on middle America than any other President.
  • Encouraged Cap and trade passage to increase demand of foreighn oil and raised the cost of our supply.
  • Promised to make tough decisions regarding the ability to continue paying medicare payments. (Cutting $400 billion from their budget.)
  • Insulted police doing their jobs making the office look foolish.
First Year:
  • Sent troops to afghanistan but pulled troops out of Iraq.
  • Made a more transparent form of Government (almost daily Facebook Q & A's with his staff) Has had more closed door meeting then any previous administration. Even his open door committee only has closed door meetings!
  • Tried several times to get the Republicans to join him and get bi-partizanship on the destruction of democracy. Republicans did not wish to contribute!
  • Well on his way to pass the HC bill which will ration health care to most Americans and help less then 12 million. The cost will destroy our children's and grand children's future.
  • Passed a stimulus package that is creating no jobs across the country. This bill has given more to the rich then every previous president combined!
  • Saved the collapse of the American automotive industry by making GM restructure before bailing them out, and putting incentive money to help the industry.
  • Shifted the focus of the war from Iraq to afghanistan, and put the empahsis on reducing terrorism.
  • Relaxed Anti-American tensions throughout the world
  • Signed offer to close the prisoner "torture camp" at Guantanamo Bay
  • Has made the environment a national priority, and a primary source for job creation
  • Has made education a national priority by putting emphasis and money behind new ideas like charter schools, but speaking directly to school children in telling them they have to do their part.

  • Provided better body armor to our troops.
  • Created the "Cash for clunkers" program that offers vouchers to trade in fuel inefficient, polluting old cars for new cars to help stimulate auto sales, save energy, and help the environment.
  • Changed the failing status quo military command in Afghanistan

  • Deployed additional troops to Afghanistan

  • Ended media blackout on war casualties and the return of fallen soldier to Dover AFB

These are quite a few accomplishment he has implemented. If Republicans and some Democrats had their way this wouldn't be possible. It takes lots off courage and compassion to do what President Obama has done with all the oppositions in his wake he did a wonderful job so far. Be inspired just like Obama, you to can make a difference one way or the other...
